Body Relaxation Techniques
Relax your body to feel better and perform at your best
Calm your mind by actively relaxing your body
Your mind and body affect each other. Negative emotions like stress, sadness and anger can make your body tense up. Tension in your body can also impact on how clearly you’re able to think. If you can think calmly and clearly you’re going to feel more positive and perform at your best. So it’s worth investing some time in relaxing your body. It’s a good idea to do this regularly so that it becomes part of your routine and you prevent a build-up of tension.
How to do it
It’s a good idea to be somewhere where you’re not going to be disturbed. Lie down or sit so that you’re comfortable. And then follow along with a guided audio recording which will talk you through the process, most importantly at the right pace. It’s a simple technique to learn but one not to be rushed. Once you’ve done it a couple of times, you could choose to go it alone. Whatever the case, it’s a really useful mental fitness habit to get into.
